Synopsis The play is set in the present day, somewhere in the idyllic rural Home Counties - but not far from Slough! Murder or suicide? Walter has taken a shine to his secretary, Angie and it would help matters if his wife Celia was out of the way. According to Walter, Celia is depressed and is always leaving unsigned suicide notes for him to find, so he believes it is perfectly reasonable to engage the services of Vincent to help her on her way. Vincent is a suicide consultant who takes great professional pride in his work. Meanwhile, Walter has also called the Samaritans to help talk his wife out of her latest suicide attempt. Confused?
