Synopsis The action of the play takes place in the Bratter's 5th floor New York apartment in February. Corrie and Paul Bratter return from their honeymoon to their empty apartment on the fifth floor of a NewYork apartment block. Their newly-wedded bliss soon fades with the appearance of Corrie's widowed mother,Ethel. Matters soon become complicated-between attempts to set her up with the charmingly flamboyant Victor Velasco from upstairs and Paul's staid focus on his work, bright-spirited Corrie begins to wonder if she can ever persuade her straight-laced new husband to live a little and go barefoot in the park...
