Join us for an informal reading of The 39 Steps, the hugely entertaining stage comedy inspired by John Buchan’s classic spy thriller and Alfred Hitchcock’s much-loved film.
When the ordinary Richard Hannay finds himself caught up in a mysterious murder, he is suddenly plunged into a world of secret agents, sinister villains and international intrigue. What follows is a breathless chase across Britain as he attempts to clear his name and uncover the secret of the mysterious “39 Steps”.
The stage version turns the thriller into a wonderfully inventive comedy, with a small cast taking on a bewildering array of characters. Expect quick changes, larger-than-life performances, narrow escapes and plenty of opportunities for fun.
