Join us for an informal reading of Notes from a Small Island, a stage adaptation inspired by Bill Bryson’s hugely popular account of his travels around Britain.
Funny, affectionate and full of wonderfully observed characters, the play takes us on a journey through the places, people and peculiarities that make Britain what it is. From familiar national habits to the eccentricities of everyday life, there’s plenty of humour along the way — as well as Bryson’s genuine fondness for the country he chose to call home.
With a lively collection of characters and situations, it should be great fun to read aloud and an entertaining evening whether you’re taking part or listening.
Our play readings are relaxed and informal. There’s no audition and no preparation needed — simply come along, pick up a part and join in. If you’d rather sit back and enjoy the reading, you’re equally welcome.
