Synopsis

The action takes place in the home of Alderman & Mrs Helliwell in Clecklewyke, a small town in the West Riding of Yorkshire in 1908. The Helliwells, Parkers & Soppitts have met to celebrate their silver wedding anniversary. They were married by the same parson on the same day at their local chapel, 25 years before.
